When in Rome... SLEEP!

I'm not sure there is any amount of planning that can prepare you for the experience of jet-lag. It's as futile as trying to plan out your life. Yet even in my tired and exhausted state, I recognize that Rome has a rare kind of beauty that is captivating. Buses, taxis and Vespa drivers weave in and out of the city as if it had a pulse; each movement a part of the complex circulatory system that makes up the rhythm of this frantic place. Interjected  with the yelling, horns honking and tourists looking lost, it's hard not to want to blend into it all and become a part of the vibrant mix.

The buildings sit so closely to one another- each one with a personality of its own. As we walked to a late dinner last night, it became difficult to tell where one street ended and another began. We decided that we'd rather not get lost and asked for directions, only to find out that no one knows the names of the streets. And it seemed that no one wanted us to suffer and many people helped us finally arrive at our destination.
Our beautiful hostel we stayed in. Super friendly staff, very clean facilities, included breakfast and a discounted box lunch. I would recommend The Roma Scout Center to anyone!
Just one view from the side steps of the hostel.
An Italian variation on "ultimate fries": sausage, hot dogs and mozzarella cheese. It was surprisingly delicious. :)
